Mr Darcy had an MRI today

Today Mr Darcy went back to the specialist for an MRI. The MRI showed that the discs are not compressing the spinal cord; but that a ligament is. The ligament is thickened and causing the spinal cord to swell: thus all the movement problems.

He is staying at the hospital tonight and he will undergo surgery tomorrow (pending approval from the head vet) to stop the ligament from damaging the spinal cord.

Fingers, paws and claws crossed everyone that the spinal cord has not been permanently damaged and that the op is a success!

  2. Oh Mr Darcy – good luck, we’ll be thinking of you and have all our paws crossed. You have a top vet looking out for your – and think of all the healing treats and cuddles you’ll be getting to help you through. You are a very brave doggie – we think you’re simply pawsome.

We’d also like to send our thoughts to your humans – we bet they’re more nervous than you are (humans are strange like that!) Good luck to all you humans – we know it’s going to be a really tough time for you but Mr Darcy will sail through, how could he not with a brilliant family like you taking care of him?

All the best and we eagerly await your next post telling us how well it all went.

Schnauzer snuggles – JD and Max.

  3. BARK! me and my pack send lots of tail wags for your op ear shun. Mommy said I had one when I was younger to make sure I never had any puppies that might be hurt someday. But that was a long time ago before I came to live with mommy and daddy, so I dont remember what it was like. It sounds scary, but your mommy sounds like she will protect you during that time. BARK! 4. Hi Mr. Darcy Mega Beastman,

It’s nice to meet you. I come by way of Mango-dude. We hope your surgery is a monster-sized success. But be wary of these Special List guys. Last time I saw one he made me really woozled and when I woke up my eye was all ouchie feeling. And the time before that my vet made me woozely and when I woke my jingle jangles were MISSING!!! Just do some squishing if it comes to that!

    Feel better soon!

    Your new bud in beasting,
    Stanislaw

  8. Oh Mr Darcy! I’m sorry my human has been very busy and away from the computer so I only saw this post now! I am keeping everythign crossed for you and will be thinking about you LOTS – I hope the surgery will make you feel much better.

Special slobbers to your humans – they must be so worried for you at the moment. See, us doggies don’t understand about all the details and so we don’t feel worried – we’re just happy if we get cuddles and treats and then we go to sleep – and then wake up – we don’t know what’s happening much so we don’t feel too scared but humans sweat all the small stuff! So then they get themselves all worked up – so you’ll have to be patient with them, which I know you are.

Oh, and I wanted also to say thank you so much for your concern about the tsunami – we were so touched that you were thinking of us during this difficult time for you! You are really, really lovely people and doggies. Don’t worry – we are all fine her – in fact, Hsin-Yi was at a shoot last night and didn’t even know about the tsunami until she heard the news this morning! 🙄 😛

    Slobbers,
    Honey the Great Dane
